Recreational Equipment Incorporated, also known as REI Co-op, is coming to the Butler Town Center on Archer Road.
The store will sell outdoor equipment for hiking, kayaking, camping, and cycling.
“We have so many outdoor experiences here that really draw thousands of people from all over the world to come and experience like La Chua Trail,” said Mary Reichardt, Butler Enterprises Corporate Director of Marketing.
The store will also offer workshops and guided outdoor experiences.
“Really what REI is about is adventuring outdoors and being a good steward of the environment and that’s really synergistic with what we believe here in Alachua County,” Reichardt said.
The 23,000 square-foot store will be completed by spring 2020.
